Students are getting involved.
At the Board of Trustees meeting 4 of us spoke from Sunrise Corvallis and one member of the Environmental Science club was there to support us. We brought up points such as transparency of funds, community/ student cooperation, tribal involvement, as well as how the set up of the meeting was intimidating. They took us seriously enough to send Jax (the graduate student on the committee) to tell us he agreed with a lot of our points and wants to meet with us to talk more. We are currently trying to set up a meeting....... Hunter Grove
On Friday, January 27 I was invited to speak to about twenty members of the Green Club at Corvallis High School. I gave an introduction to the planning process for the McDonald/ Dunn Research Forest and its predetermined outcome, made students aware that according to ORS 352.025, this forest is public land, not OSU land. We discussed how they could get involved. I believe that it was a very productive meeting. . . . . Steve Cook
